FRANKLIN, N.H. —
New England’s first whitewater park is only an hour and a half from Boston. The project opened its first feature last year and continues to expand. The park is attracting new businesses to the downtown area as part of a several-year-long revitalization project.
The nonprofit Franklin Outing Club offers year-round outdoor recreational activities maintained by an all-volunteer staff. The group is also bringing the first machine-cut mountain biking trails to New Hampshire. The first, Ace of Spades, opened last year.
The Vulgar Brewing Company was founded in 2018 by Jason and Shelly Harrington and Damon and Megan Lewis. They met in a homebrew club while living in Texas and were so intrigued by Franklin, New Hampshire’s plans for a Whitewater Park that they moved north to start their business.
